General Nature of Public Improvement Proposed Street Improvements - Curve Street and Orchard Street Paving- Mediapolis, Iowa - 2023 It is the intent of the drawings and specifications to provide for the reconstruction of Curve Street from Meadow Street to North Street (approximately 1,100 feet) and Orchard Street from Main Street to North Street (approximately 600 feet); and to replace water main along Orchard Street from Main Street to North Street, in the City of Mediapolis, Iowa. Time for Commencement and Completion of Work. The work under the proposed Contract shall commence upon issuance of the written Notice to Proceed. The proposed street improvements listed shall be fully completed on or before October 31, 2023. The Bidder agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum of $500 for each consecutive calendar day after the specified completion date that the project is not fully completed Bid Security. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Section 26.8 of the Code of Iowa. Bid security shall be 10% of the bid amount. Preference for Iowa Products and Labor. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes.
