Phase IV includes rehabilitation of the central play area according to the 2001 Central Play Area Master Plan, which includes a tot lot, ADA improvements, improved circulation, picnic facilities, volleyball courts, building renovations and landscaping. The park's central play area, originally developed in 1968, is heavily used by the community, summer camp and recreation programs, and is in need of renovation. The project will also improve park circulation and ADA access. Development of a tot lot will help support City day camp programs and neighborhood use. The Central Play Area Master Plan was completed in 2000 and is consistent with the Lynndale Park Master Plan. Consistent with goals and objectives stated in Parks and Recreation Element of the Lynnwood Comprehensive Plan that provide improvements to promote public safety, security, accessibility, and respond to community needs. Park improvements enhance level of service to park users. The project is included in the City of Lynnwood 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
