This Request for Proposals (the RFP) is an invitation by Wilfrid Laurier University to prospective proponents - Mechanical Contractors to submit proposals for Science Research Building- Air Handling Units AHUs Replacement, and supply and installation of new Demand Control Ventilation DCV system as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the Deliverables). The overall scope of work for the proposed project involves removal and replacement of three (3) existing roof mounted air handling units. Removal and replacement will require modifications to existing screening and structural supports at the roof level. A new functional mechanical room is to be built on Level 4 of the Science Research Building as part of this project. That includes all architectural, civil, structural mechanical, electrical and control BAS works. A new Siemens Demand Control Ventilation DCV system to be supplied, installed, and commissioned in the building per project documents as integrated part of this project. This contractor is responsible for the complete mechanical, electrical, control, civil, and general construction scopes of work as outlined in the drawing and specification package. Provide and install all mechanical equipment, components, electrical, structural and controls to meet the requirements of the design drawings and specifications. This project includes for demolition and new work to build a complete mechanical room on the 4th floor of the Science Research Building. This contractor is responsible for the complete construction of that room including but not limited to walls, doors, ceiling revisions, trim, painting and adjustments to flooring as required. The project involves removal and replacement of three (3) existing roof mounted air handling units. Removal and replacement will require modifications to existing screening and structural supports at the roof level. There is a secondary project component which is a demand control ventilation system upgrade. The complete scope of work for this project will be performed by Siemens as turnkey for 27 locations within the building under THIS CONTRACT. Bidding contractors must contact Siemens as per controls specification sections for pricing related to this work. This cost must be included in the total project bid. Work will begin immediately upon award of contract and shall achieve Completion of Contract by Sunday August 20, 2023. However, the AHU replacement works on the roof can not start before 20th April 2023 as the related works on the roof will be associated with the shutdown of the building, which can not happen before 20th April 2023.
