Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Fife, Washington. Design plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

As of October 24, 2025, this project is in the design phase. Design is 90% completed. This project has not yet gone out to bid. Construction is estimated to begin spring 2026. Project will install sidewalk with ADA-compliant curb ramps, bike lane with painted buffers, pedestrian-scale luminaires and planter strip buffer. The project will also reconstruct an existing eastbound bus stop from a pull-out to an in-lane stop. Stormwater conveyance and treatment facilities will also be needed. Major features include: Reconfiguring the roadway for multimodal use ADA and pedestrian improvements Stormwater improvements Environmental documentation and preparation of permit applications Utility coordination Design work is anticipated to start in August 2024 and end in February 2025 with the option for the City of Fife to extend it for additional time and money, if necessary. This federally funded project has EEO, ADA and Civil Rights requirements that must be adhered to. Project has a 0% DBE goal. Upon review of the submittals, selected firms will be invited for interviews in June 2024. After the City and WSDOT Local Programs staff interview panel selects the most qualified firm, the City will commence contract negotiations of a proposed scope, schedule and cost-plus fix fee contract for the project.
