All projects to follow MDOT Standard Specifications for Construction and approved Special Provision specs that apply. Parking lot or trail pavement where milling and removal of asphalt is required, contractor may need to supplement gravel base with 21AA or 22AA gravel base to bring lot to original grade conditions and shall be included in overall project scope. All lot striping to be white for standard spaces and blue for barrier free spaces. Contractor responsible for closing lots and/or trails for paving and keeping secure through the process. Unit (ton) pricing numbers for the following to be included in vendor comments on the Response Form: o Ton, 1.5" MDOT 36A HMA o Ton, 2" MDOT 13A HMA Contractor to clean edges of lot adjacent to turf to expose full pavement. Wheel stops to be removed by owner. Contractor to mill and remove existing parking lot full pavement depth. Fine grade lot to original grading plans as needed, compact lot base, pave at 4" depth, 2.5" base MDOT 13A and 1.5" top course MDOT 36A, compacted in place. Edge restoration by others. See original layout and grading plans attached, actual built conditions may vary slightly. Circle drive has been widened, field measure. Contractor to stripe lot per original plans. Reference Exhibit A for site plans. Wahlfield Park Paving Schedule: o Parking Lot to be completed on or before August 31, 2023 but must be open for weekends and holidays. o Completing before Memorial Day would provide the least amount of conflicts and should be considered when scheduling. Fallasburg Park, 14000 McPherson St, Lowell MI 49331 Disc Golf Parking lot located east of the McPherson Bridge over the Flatt River Gravel base installed in 2022, contractor to pave per layout and grading plans. Lot to be fine graded per grading plan and paved per layout plan. Contractor to provide pavement per detail on layout plans. Contractor to provide parking lot striping per plan layout. Edge restoration by others. Reference Exhibit B for details. Fallasburg Park Paving Schedule: o Work to be completed on or before August 31, 2023. M-6 Trail Eastern to Creekside Park (south) and Eastern to Kalamazoo (north) Contractor to crush and shape existing trail, fine grade material, apply 2% cross slope, compact to 95%. Trail(s) to be paved at 3.5" depth, 2" base MDOT 13A, 1.5" top course MDOT 36A, compacted in place. Contractor to restore edges with existing material from crush and shape operations. Contractor to provide necessary road controls per local jurisdiction for entry/exit of trail and obtain all necessary permits for access/lane closures if needed. Creekside Park may be used as staging area/overnight parking in the far north lot by the ball fields. Contractor to close trail(s) to use during work. Reference Trail lengths and widths on the trail map included in Exhibit C. M-6 Trail Paving Schedule: o Work to be completed on or before August 31, 2023. Inquiries Deadline Date & Time (local) 1/5/2023, 2 PM Dutton Shadyside Park, 7343 Hammond Ave, Dutton, MI 49316 Gravel base for trail installed in 2022. Trail length is approximately 400 Lineal Feet, and to be 10' wide. Contractor to compact and fine grade trail base, apply 2% cross slope. Pave trail at 3.5" depth, 2" base MDOT 13A, 1.5" top course MDOT 36A, compacted in place. Restoration by others. Reference the site plan in Exhibit D for work area. Dutton Shadyside Park Trail Paving Schedule: o Work to be completed on or before August 31, 2023. Each bid over $500,000 must be accompanied by a Bid Bond executed by the Respondent and payable to County of Kent for five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds or Payment Bonds and Performance Bonds must file a certified effective dated copy of their Power of Attorney. A certified check, bank draft, cashier's check, or negotiable U.S. Government bond (at par value) may be submitted In lieu of a Bid Bond. Personal checks are NOT acceptable. Each contract over $50,000 must be accompanied by a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each payable to the Owner (County of Kent) and each in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the funding agency, for the faithful performance of the contract. All equipment/materials shall consist of the original manufacturer warranty in addition to any other warranties specified in this Solicitation. Warranties shall include, at minimum, warranties against defects in design, materials, and workmanship. The warranty period will start upon installation of product or sixty (60) days from date of delivery, whichever is less, unless otherwise specified. Labor and shipping costs for the replacement of defective material will be borne by the Respondent for the duration of the warranty period. The Respondent agrees that, regardless of statements to the contrary, they will not disclaim either the warranty of merchantability or the warranty of fitness for a particular purpose
