Demolition, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Toronto, Ontario. Design plans call for the renovation of a medical facility; for the demolition of a medical facility; for the construction of a 277,333-square-foot, six-story above grade, 228-bed medical facility; and one-story below grade parking garage.
Demolition of the existing K Wing of the hospital and the construction of a new building on the same location (6 storeys above grade, 1 storey below-grade; 228 new patient beds). The K Wing and replacement building are located on the western side of the Providence Healthcare campus. The new building will primarily be a Long-Term Care (LTC) centre, with some spaces dedicated to dementia care and dialysis for in-patients. The proposal will also create an open-air Winter Garden space to the east of the new building, and a green roof to the south-east. Parking spaces will increase slightly; 5 new loading docks are also planned on the south side of the new building. TIMELINE: Project is on hold pending owner's decision to proceed. At this time, there there is no proposed schedule to proceed with next steps. Further update fall 2026. *Construction cost is an estimate only.
