Note: bidder shall affix the following project number to the bid envelope e2041 Attention all bidders: a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid or an annual bid bond is required prior to bid opening. See section 102.3 of the city of wichita standard specifications for further information. Bidders are advised to contact the office of the city engineer (316-268-4501) should they have any questions or concerns about the plans, special or supplemental provisions, minority status, or the proper preparation of the bid document. The bid form shall be prepared using unit prices per bid item, unless otherwise noted. The signals shall be installed, operational, and with no traffic restrictions by June 1, 2023. All work on the project except landscaping shall be completed by August 31, 2023. In the event that materials are not available by June 1, 2023, the contractor will be required to install temporary signals (wood poles with span wires). The contractor shall be required to show correspondence with suppliers to show a good faith effort to obtain all the permanent materials to meet the completion date of June 1, 2023. Working days will be charged as provided for in the Standard Specifications, once the work order is issued. Liquidated damages in the amount of $1,000 per day shall apply to each date listed above. The non-availability of material shall not prevent working days from being assessed Basis of Payment. Payment for the bid items will be as a lump sum/measured quantity amount based on the bid quantities and unit prices in the bid proposal.
