The Chabot - Las Positas Community College District is soliciting from interested and qualified Consultants to provide DSA Inspector of Record Services (IOR) during the Increment 2 construction of the Chabot College Library and Learning Connection Project. This position would be as a second inspector assisting the current IOR on the project. The project includes the construction of the new Library and Learning Connection Building which is located in the center of the Chabot College Campus grand court, south of the existing library Building (B100). The existing site is a concrete courtyard. The project is split into two (2) increments. Increment 1 consist of primarily underground work and soil stabilization. Increment 2 consist of the above-groundwork for the new building. As of December of 2022, Increment 1 is complete, and Increment 2 is still in progress. The new facility will be a four (4) story Library and tutoring building. The new building will have a library, classrooms, study rooms, and offices. The project is targeted for LEED NC v4.2 Silver Certification. The scope of work includes construction of said structures above, site paving, site grading, and construction of site elements. Construction is currently in progress, and is estimated to be complete by at the end of February, 2024. As of December 2022, the contractor is finishing with installing structural steel. The DSA Inspector(s) of Record will act as the agent of the Division of State Architects at the project site and report to both the Division of the State Architect and the District's Project Planner/Manager and Construction Management consultant. The IOR will act as the agent of the District at the project site to ensure the project is constructed according to the approved DSA plans and specifications.
