Renovation of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 18-story above grade elderly care / assisted living facility.
Kiwanis place is a 307-unit, 18 story complex that is located at 10330 - 120 Street. The facility was constructed in 1970, is owned by the Alberta Social Housing Corporation (ASHC) and managed by GEF Seniors Housing. The original elevator was installed in 1971 and modernized in 1995. Drives for current elevators are no longer manufactured, and in repair state; therefore, modernizations are initiated at this site. This project is for the contracting services related to the upgrade and modernization of this elevator. The project will include upgrading mechanical components, electrical components, controls and cab interior as per the engineering specifications and drawings developed by Bambrough And Associates Inc. (Lead consultant) and attached. The intention of this project is to be a turn-key solution that shall include all necessary work and upgrades to make the modernized elevators Code compliant. Elevator contractor to act as a prime contactor for this modernization. Maintenance agreement is required to be submitted separately to GEF, and no cost included in modernization bid. One-year warranty maintenance after acceptance of last modernized elevator accepted by AHJ. Maintenance agreement with GEF starts after warranty term ends.
