This is the first phase (Phase One) of a two-phase competition. The first phase will evaluate the qualifications of all bidders. The second phase, (Phase Two), will invite the qualified bidders to provide a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings which will be accessible through SAP Ariba. Upon award of a contract in Phase Two, the pre-qualification list resulting from the first phase will expire and will not be used in any other solicitation. Following Phase Two solicitation closing, bid results will be recorded and may be obtained by e-mailing a request to the address indicated in the Invitation to Tender. Work Description: 1. The project includes installation of temporary support system for an existing water main and sanitary force main. The site is located on a secondary access road between the Kent Institution and Mountain Institution, 4732 Cemetery Rd, Agassiz, BC. 2. Work under this contract generally consists of the following but is not limited to:
a. Project Management including all requirements of Section 01 31 00 - Project Management and Coordination.
b. Contract submittals (using email or a large file transfer proposed by the Contractor and acceptable to the Departmental Representative) prior to and during the work (see 3.9 - Contract Submittals, Section 01 25 20 - Mobilization and Demobilization and Section 01 33 00 - Submittal Procedures).
c. Supply and maintain of all traffic control for the duration of the works.
d. Environmental Protection.
e. Quality Management.
f. Selective site demolition, including removal of existing utility support arrangement (i.e., concrete blocks, steel members), insultation and timbers, and other items as necessary to complete the works.
g. Locating and exposing the existing Water Main and Sanitary Force Main using non-intrusive means (i.e., "soft digging" with hand tools, hydro-vac excavation), and confirmation of the main material, outside diameter, condition and pressure rating.
h. Supply and installation of coupler, mechanical connection and gate valve, for Water Main and Sanitary Force Main Tie-Ins, based on findings from the exposure of the existing Water Main and Sanitary Force Main. Supply, placement and compaction of Pipe Bedding and Surround Material.
i. Installation of Water Main and Sanitary Force Main Rerouting.
j. Installation of Thrust Blocks.
k. Installation of Steel Carrier Pipe Assembly and Steel Crossing Structure Supports.
l. Coordinating local fire department onsite presence during water main shut-down(s) for fire protection
m. Supply, loading, transport, and unloading of two (2) pallets of bottled drinking water at Mountain Institution Principal Entrance.
n. Restoration to pre-construction conditions.
o. Work complete by Change Order (if required and approved by Departmental Representative). 3. Optional Work, if required and approved by the Departmental Representative, including:
