General Notice Town of Byron (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project: Water Improvement Benefit Area No. 1 Contract B In accordance with Section 103 of Article 5-A of the General Municipal Law, The Project includes the following Work: The proposed improvement consist of the installation of approximately 52,000 linear feet (LF) of 8" water main, directional boring of 8" water main, valves, hydrants and appurtenances along portions of Batavia Byron Road, Walkers Corners Road, Clinton Street Road (NYS Route 33), Old State Road, Cockram Road, Bank Street Road, Byron Elba Road (NYS Route 262) Tower Hill Road and Searls Road in the Town of Byron. The Town of Byron, Genesee County, New York, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informalities, or to make an award to other than the low bidder. It further reserves the right to limit the amount of the award. Attention of the bidders is particularly directed to the requirements of the conditions of employment to be observed and minimum Wage Rates to be paid under the Contract. The Town of Byron does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status in admission or access to, or treatment or employment in, its programs and activities. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. American Iron and Steel Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and Construction Materials.
