Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Somerton, Arizona. Design plans call for the construction of a 30,000-square-foot clubhouse / community center; for site work for a clubhouse / community center; playground / park / athletic field; and playground / park / athletic field.
Scope: a lake, sports fields, an amphitheater, an Olympic-sized pool, and other amenities. As of April 2024, concept design has been completed. Schematic design is underway. Construction is expected to begin in 2025. Proposals are being accepted by the City of Somerton for the selection of a Landscape or Architectural firm to design a master plan for a new community center / park and mixed land use project. The City of Somerton owns a parcel of 35 acres in size, Yuma County Assessors Parcel No. 195-33-027, located on the west end of the city and adjacent to the new Somerton High School. It is envisioned that this Master Plan will be the foundation for the site layout of buildings and park construction. It is anticipated that the community center building will be approximately 30,000 square feet and adjacent to the Olympic size swimming pool. The park design should include parking facilities and the 35-acre size lake. The lake will have a dual role, for recreation activities and a source of irrigation water for the high school ballfields and the city park.
