The Ohio County Board of Education will receive lump sum, clearly marked, sealed proposals from qualified contractors for the furnishing of all labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, services, etc. for the "Ohio County Schools, Miscellaneous HVAC Improvements, OCHS - Gymnasium HVAC Unit Replacement" project. The project includes acceptance of all existing conditions which are to be inspected by all bidders prior to bidding, alternates as defined in the contract documents and all other general construction, mechanical and electrical work specified in the Contract Documents prepared by the Architect, Hawkins Abney, PLLC This is a federally funded project and must conform to the requirements of the Davis Bacon Act including the requirement for wage rates and attendant book keeping protocol. Project consist of the demolition and disposal of the existing heat pump units serving the high school gymnasium along with associated piping and ductwork with new HVAC heat pump units installed at the same locations with new associated piping and ductwork. Also included will be improvements and modifications made to the existing controls system. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Owner in an amount of not less than 5% of the bid. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the bid opening. The successful bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond in an amount equal to at least One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in bids received and shall have the right to reject any and all bids. Preference for resident bidders shall be given as outlined in KRS 45A.90 to 45A.94. Conflicts of interest, gratuities and kickbacks are defined in KRS 45A.445. Federal Wage rates ARE applicable to this project as is adherence to the Davis Bacon Act. Direct purchase orders do NOT apply to this project.
