For ESSER Window Replacement - Myrtle Provide one sign at each campus, 4-foot-wide x 8-foot-high project signs of exterior grade plywood and wood frame construction, with printed graphics highlighting the project, federal funding sources, the school district, and the architect,the project consist of the select removal and replacement of windows on specific buildings on the myrtle attendence center campus. . windows containt asbestos materials and shall be removed in accordance to state law as specified, unless directed by the asbestos monitoring company on alternate methods of compliance. contractor is to work with the asbestos monitoring company, coordinate work times and overall schedule with the asbestos monitoring company. . included in the project manual is an asbestos report and a specific abatement specification for removal procedures and methods, specifically provided for this project along with abatement requirements on how to remove abated materials and the proper disposal of said materials. . all measurements of windows are for rough openings taken through onsite measurements or existing drawings and should be considered +- of the actual opening dimension. the contractor shall be familiar with the working conditions, and all requirements of the necessary installation per the bid window system's recommendations and requirements for a water and air proof installation. all existing windows shall be reviewed by the contractor prior to bid verifying all existing conditions, replacement procedures, size, quantity, access, required flashing or panning materials needed and all other physical attributes of the existing conditions prior to bid to meet the bid manufacturer's requirements and recommendations. an effort has been made to identify the general conditions at each window, but the contractor is responsible for being familiar with all conditions prior to bid. In situations where the General Contractor needs a portion of work to be observed by the Architect and/or the Architects consultant(s), the Contractor shall keep the Architect informed of the schedule weekly so that the Architect will have, at the very least, 24 hours notice of when the portion of work will be complete and ready to be inspected. With the understanding that construction activities quite often require a flexible schedule, the Architect will attempt to respond to the Contractor's request for inspection. The Contractor should be careful not to schedule work so tightly that there will not be time for a 24 hour lag between the time a stage of work is ready for inspection and the time the inspection takes place. Contractor's company name and a current Certificate of Responsibility Number (or "bid under $50,000") shall be written on the outside of the sealed envelope. Bid proposals must be submitted, in duplicate, on copies of the "General Construction Bid Form" included in the specifications and must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Certified Check, or cash in the amount of 5% of the Base Bid (100%). The Bid Bond, if used, shall be payable to the Owner. Performance and Payment Bond will be required from the successful bidder. Bids are requested for a Lump Sum Base Bid with any Alternates and/or Unit Costs requested. In the event that an electronic bid is submitted, a copy of the bid bond must be included with the submission. If submitting electronically, a hard copy of all bid documents must be provided within 3 business days if requested after the bid opening. No partial sets of drawings or project manuals will be issued. No oral, telegraphic, telephonic, or e-mail proposals will be considered. For sealed bids, the current Certificate of Responsibility Number of the bidder shall appear on the outside of each sealed envelope containing a proposal, said envelope being plainly marked "ESSER Window Replacement - Myrtle" If submitting electronically, please include this information on a cover page with your bid submission. All bids submitted in excess of $50,000.00 by a Prime or Sub-Contractor to do any erection, building, construction, repair, maintenance, or related work must comply with the Mississippi Contractors Act of 1985, by securing a Certificate of Responsibility from the State Board of Public Contracts. If a bidder submits a bid not exceeding $50,000, no Certificate of Responsibility number is required; however, a notation stating that the bid does not exceed $50,000 must appear on the face of the envelope, or a Certificate of Responsibility number. Each bidder submitting a bid in excess of $50,000 must show its Certificate of Responsibility number on the face of the envelope containing the bid. If submitting electronically, please include this information on a cover page with your bid submission. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality whenever rejection of waiver is in the best interest of the Owner. The Owner also reserves the right to negotiate with the lowest bidder for any deletions or additions to the contract, as they desire.
