Work will primarily consist of the demolition, installation, and rehabilitation of sanitary sewer (SS) pipe ranging from 4 to 8 inches in diameter. The improvements will take place starting at the northernmost side of the Port's East Complex underneath Berths 3-6 and continue south and west along Port Roads 2 and A, respectively. Construction activities underneath Berths 3-6 will include: Removal of 860 LF of suspended 4" SS cast iron with lead joints, removal of 245 LF of 4" SS cast iron with lead joints aboveground, removal of 220 LF of 4" SS cast iron with lead joints underground, installation of 586 LF of 6" SS Sch 80 PVC suspended underneath Berths 3-6, installation of 70 LF of 6" SS Sch 80 PVC underneath train rails (including a concrete vault encasement), installation of 110 LF of 4" SS Sch 80 PVC underground, and installation of 135 LF of 8" SS PVC underground. Work from the water and over water will be required underneath Berths 3-6, and trash/debris are prohibited from entering the waterway. Construction activities along Port Roads 2 and A will include: Removal and replacement of 150 LF of 8" concrete pipe in eight (8) different locations (one being underneath train rails), and installation of 3,067 LF of 8" Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP). The project is expected to last eighty (80) working days. The Contractor will need to coordinate with railroad personnel to remove and replace track over sewer line repair/installation locations. Transportation Worker Identification Cards [TWIC] are required for all on site workers and deliveries. Work shall be finally completed within 80 working days from the date when Contract Time commences to run. A California "A" Contractor License is required to Bid this Contract. Additionally, all prime contractors are required to have a hazardous waste license or have a listed subcontractor at time of bid that has hazardous waste license. Some work may encounter hazardous material. Joint ventures must secure a joint venture license prior to award of this Contract. The successful Bidder must comply with all prevailing wage laws applicable to the] Project, and related requirements contained in the Contract Documents Port specifically reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all Bids, or rebid, or to waive inconsequential deviations from Bid requirements not involving time, price, or quality of the Work.
