The principal contact for the City regarding this RFP will be: Sarah Limones, Senior Emergency Management Program Coordinator 12 Journey, Suite 100 Aliso Viejo, CA 92656 949-425-2598 Slimones@ocsheriff.gov The City of Aliso Viejo, California is seeking a qualified consultant to coordinate, facilitate, and prepare a new City of Aliso Viejo Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) pursuant to the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, implementing regulations and guidance as they apply to local governments. The plan will be consistent with the State of California's FEMA-approved mitigation plan. A FEMA-approved plan will help identify mitigation actions that will make the City of Aliso Viejo and plan participants more resilient. The City of Aliso Viejo has obtained a FEMA grant in the amount of $93,750.00 for the development of this LHMP. The grant award period ends on January 1, 2025. This will be an inclusive citywide planning process and will include the following participants seeking FEMA approval of the Plan: City of Aliso Viejo, special districts, agencies, and other stakeholders. These entities will be invited to participate in the plan development process as members of the planning committee. The City of Aliso Viejo was incorporated July 1, 2001, as a general law city which, operates under the council/manager form of government. The City encompasses approximately seven (7) square miles; serves an approximate population of 50,000 people and is located in southern Orange County. The City provides municipal services primarily through contracts for police and fire services, public works, engineering, building, code enforcement, recreation, and legal services. The City's fiscal year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30. The Aliso Viejo Public Facilities Corporation was established in July 2006 for the purpose of providing lease financing to the City for the acquisition of an existing office building to serve as the City Hall facility. Anticipated Final Selection January 17, 2023 Anticipated City Council Approval February 1, 2023 Tentative Project Start February 13, 2023 The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
