Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in Burien, Washington. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center.
This energy improvement project will help the city meet climate action goals and maintain an older but still viable building. The project will replace the oil-fired boiler with a new energy efficient heating and cooling and healthy ventilation system, to upgrade lighting to LED, replace windows to more energy efficient and soundproof windows, and replace tile floors that are at the end of their life. These energy efficiency improvements are anticipated to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 19.3 metric tonnes per year and save the city approximately $10,000 per year in fuel costs. As of November 19, 2025, this project is included in the City of Burien's Fiscal Year 2025-2030 Capital Improvement Plan. Further information regarding a design firm has not yet been established. It may begin in 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
