Site work, paving, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Glencoe, Illinois. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
Pepper Construction will issue bid documents and information direct to all interested bidders only. The general scope of work includes the interior and exterior renovations and new construction at the three work sites including, but not limited to, renovation at their special education Transition Center in Glencoe, exterior renovation and new construction at their Duke Childs Field baseball and softball complex in Winnetka, and exterior and interior renovations at their freshman campus in Northfield. The general scope of work includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary for completion of the work indicated in the Bid Documents including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: temporary facilities and controls, cutting and patching, structure demolition, selective demolition, drilled screw piles and anchors, cast-in-place concrete, unit masonry, cold-formed metal framing, metal fabrications, pipe and tube railings, miscellaneous rough carpentry, interior finish carpentry, plastic paneling, thermoplastic sheet waterproofing, thermal insulation, EPDM roofing, roof specialties, sheet metal flashing and trim, penetration firestopping, fire-resistive joint systems, joint sealants, expansion joint assemblies, hollow metal doors and frames, flush wood doors, FRP flush doors, access doors and frames, overhead coiling doors, aluminum-framed entrances and storefronts, glazed aluminum curtain walls, door hardware, glazing, glazing surface films, non-structural metal framing, cement plastering, gypsum board, ceramic tiling, acoustical panel ceilings, acoustical panels, resilient base and accessories, resilient tile flooring, portland cement terrazzo flooring, resinous flooring, tile carpeting, interior painting, exterior painting, visual display units, room-identification panel signage, plastic toilet compartments, toilet, bath & laundry accessories, fire protection cabinets, metal lockers, roller window shades, manufactured plastic-laminate-clad casework, simulated stone countertops, fire-suppression sprinkler systems, plumbing, storm drainage piping specialties, heating, ventilating and air-conditioning, electrical, structured cabling for voice and data, extension of existing intercom system and extension of existing fire alarm system, audio video systems, security systems, site clearing, earth moving, erosion and sediment control, asphalt paving, concrete paving, athletic and recreational surfacing, skinned infield surfaces, chain link fencing and gates, turf and grasses, landscaping, decorative metal fencing, water utility distribution piping, sanitary utility sewerage piping, and storm utility drainage piping. The three work sites are located at 640 Vernon Avenue, Glencoe, IL 60022, 1312 Willow Road, Winnetka, IL 60093, and 7 Happ Road, Northfield, IL 60093. On-site construction will commence at all work sites approximately on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, dependent on actual school snow days. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid. A completed AIA A305 Contractor's Qualification Statement must be submitted with each bid. Refer to Pepper's Construction Manual for additional requirements. Each successful Subcontractor will be required to furnish construction performance and labor and material payment bonds in the full amount of the final Subcontract Sum. A project labor agreement ("PLA") is in place for the project. The Contractor must pay union wages for all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing the work under this contract. The PLA will, among other things, govern the use of trade labor for the project. All prime contractors and subcontractors performing work will be required to become signatory to the PLA and bound by its terms. The New Trier Township High School District 203 Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, reject nonconforming bids, reject conditional bids, waive irregularities in the bidding procedures, or to accept any bid that, in its sole opinion, best serves the interests of the School District.
