A timeline or award has not yet been established.** 1.2.1 Project Description Building V-10 is a two-story steel framed structure with a footprint of approximately 18,232 square feet constructed circa 1985. The crawl space under the building is subject to groundwater between structural grids 1 through 6. There is curently in place an impromptu dewatering pipe, which requires a portable exterior dewatering pump connection when crawl space access is required. Dewatering requires approximately 48 hours prior to crawl space access. Severe water and moisture damange to structural, plumbing, and electrical systems has occurred within the area of the building crawl space. The crawl space below the building is defined by OSHA as a permitted confined space, which means entry by permit only, limited access, little or no ventilation, no lighting, and not a habitable space. Construction of this space from grade through the first floor is sand without vapor barrier, steel columns and beams on concrete pile caps, concrete/galvanized metal plate/insulation/concrete/steel grounding plate). The entire crawl space is below exterior grade (pavement) and was not constructed as a watertight space. The work includes the following: a. Corrective measures to crawl space structural, plumbing, ventilation, fire protection, and electrical components/systems. b. Dewatering of the crawl space due to ground water flooding. c. Moisture mitigation through mechanical ventilation, vapor barrier, and application of spray foam insulation to the bottom of the steel pan floor deck. d. Reduction of the crawl space classification from a "Permitted Confined Space" to a "Confined Space" by providing ventilation, lighting, and additional personnel access.
