The contract will be awarded (or the bids rejected) at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Douglas County Board of County Commissioners within 30 days after the opening of the bids. Douglas County Project 2023-01 consists of approximately 31 miles of single bituminous seals which includes 28 miles of shoulders throughout Douglas County. Prime and double seal approximately 0.8 miles, and single seal 1.48 miles for the City of Lecompton. Prime and double seal approximately 0.2 miles and seal approximately 2.4 miles of roadway for the City of Baldwin City. The work will be performed during the summer of 2023 per Special Provision 15-DG-108 & upon receipt of a Notice to Proceed (NTP). The early Notice to Proceed is June 5, 2023 and the late Notice to Proceed is August 7, 2023. A bid must be submitted electronically through the countys purchasing software by the bidder and must be signed electronically by a duly authorized representative of the bidder s organization. No other method of submitting bids will be accepted. Late submissions will not be permitted Each bidder shall be required to deposit with such bidder s bid a CERTIFIED CHECK, CASHIERS CHECK or a BID BOND for not less than Five Percent (5%) of the base bid as a guarantee that if awarded the Contract, the bidder will enter into a Contract and give bond as required. Said check or bid bond shall be made payable to the Douglas County treasurer. The Board of County Commissioners of Douglas County, Kansas reserves the right to reject nonconforming bids and to waive technicalities, and to award the contract to the bidder which is the lowest responsible bidder.
