Reference Number: AB-2023-00182 The 2023 Contract Gravel Haul Program is being used to prolong the life of existing road infrastructure by re-graveling sections of local roads per specification standards. This work involves hauling and designated spreading of approximately 94,791 tonnes of County supplied gravel on approximately 443 miles of local roads within the municipality. The County operates out of five gravel pits/stockpiles four of which are within municipal boundaries. The locations of all five are identified in Part 1 Scope of Work. The average haul distance was 19 miles in 2022 depending on the Division and the total haul anticipated for the 2023 program is 1,801,029 tonne miles. A loading factor will apply on approximately 50,000 tonnes of gravel and only on loads where the haul distance is less than 10 miles. The gravel haul contract may be extended for up to three additional years upon mutual agreement between the County and the Contractor. See documentation for further information.
