Those bidders submitting a bid but not registering with the architect are not eligible and will have their bids returned to them unopened. Bid Security in the form of a Certified Check or Money Order, payable to the order of the South Huntington Public Library, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Bid, shall be submitted with each Bid. The surety issuing the Bid Bond shall have a minimum policyholder rating of "A" as listed in A.M. Best's Insurance Guide and be licensed as an admitted carrier to conduct business in the State of New York. Each bid must also be accompanied by a Letter of Intent from a surety company acceptable to the Owner, which letter shall assure the Owner that the Bidder, if awarded the contract, will be able to secure from the surety the required bonds in the required amounts. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Payment and Performance Bonds covering 100% of the work.
