Jasper County (County) through its Engineering Department (Engineer) will be accepting sealed bids of the proposed Secondary Roads Liberty Avenue Yard. Work shall be in general conformance with the applicable Iowa Statewide Urban Design Specifications (SUDAS Standard Specifications and Design Manual), and Iowa Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridge Construction. Completion of this work is necessary to ensure the site is ready for future work delivered by a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR). The Jasper County Board of Supervisors (Board) in consultation with the Engineer reserve the right to reject any and all bids, and to accept the bid which, in the opinion of the Board, represents the best interests of the County. Any exceptions to the bid documents must be clearly written and submitted on a separate page from the bid form Definitions: The following definitions are used throughout the bid documents: Bidder/Vendor means a company or individual submitting a bid Contractor means bidder awarded the work Bid Documents - means the cover sheet, index, bid process and procedure information, and attachments County means the County of Jasper Iowa Board means the Board of Supervisors duly elected to serve the county State means the State of Iowa Bidders shall examine the site and documents herein to obtain first-hand information of existing conditions and the proposed work. Contractor will not be given extra payment for conditions which could be determined by examination of the existing site and these bid documents.
