A timeline for award has not yet been established.**  The Work consists of the repair and rehabilitation of the maintenance bay pit slabs and supporting structures. Existing cast-in-place concrete elevated pit slabs and supports shall be removed and replaced with new pre-cast deck and structural steel supports. Portions of the existing maintenance pits shall be filled in using lightweight concrete fill. Work will include replacing all of the existing pit lighting and installation of safety equipment. Work shall be phased to complete repairs within a single pit at a time to allow for maintenance operations to continue in all other pits. PROJECT VALUE - $4,000,000. 00 WBE (6. 9%) 1. Cleaning of existing pit surfaces, removal of inactive systems and phased demolition of the existing Cast-in-place elevated pit slabs and supports. Preparation of existing structures to remain to receive the proposed pre-cast concrete slabs and supporting structures. Installation of temporary shoring as required to permit phased demolition activities. 2. Installation of necessary construction partitions and controls to protect MBTA personnel from the active construction areas. Installation of temporary by-pass/connections for electrical power, pneumatic lines and waste oil piping. Installation of appropriate water collection and removal equipment as required throughout construction. 3. Removal and disposal of all existing pit equipment affected by the work and not identified for re-use or salvage. 4. Procuring all required permits. 5. Repair of deteriorated floor slabs in the vicinity of the Maintenance Pits and associated services areas. 6. Replacement of existing pit lighting with hazardous duty rated LED fixtures. 7. Furnishing and installing new pre-cast concrete elevated and approach slabs and associated structural steel supports. 8. Installation of new safety equipment including Pit safety netting and fall arrest equipment. 9. Installation of new pre-fabricated modular foreman's office sp'ce including all required systems including electrical, HVAC, Fire detection and sprinkler systems. 10. Installation of new maintenance pit ventilation systems and associated make-up air units.
