The Friendship Heights Village Council, governing body for the Village of Friendship Heights, invites bids to finalize the design and construct a Village identity sign at the southeast corner of Hubert Humphrey Park (corner of The Hills Plaza and South Park Avenue), located in front of the Village Center. This notice is placed in compliance with the applicable provisions of Section 66 of the Montgomery County Code. The successful bidder will be required to execute affidavits of non-collusion, non-conviction, and non-suspension/disbarment (Md. Code, State Finance and Procurement Art. Sec 16-311(a) and (b)), and a written contract in a form approved by the Village. The successful bidder must be qualified and registered to do business in Maryland (Md. Code, Corps. Art. Sec. 7-201). The Village reserves the right to refuse all bids if none appear appropriate to the Village's circumstances. Sign Specifications Finished design will be based upon the sketch provided by the Village. Materials will be highly resistant to rot and weathering with a life expectancy of at least twenty years. Finished sign will be guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship through the first year after construction. Sign will be located where the Village bulletin board currently stands, centered on and slightly behind the commemorative plaque mounted at ground level. Sign will be mounted approximately three feet above grade on vertical supports anchored in footers extending at least three feet below grade. Sign will be four to five feet in width and six to seven feet in length. Sign will have a raised edge at least two inches wide.
