For Wall Street Waterline Improvements Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows: Approximately 2,900 linear feet of 8-inch PVC water main Gate valves, fire hydrants and reconnection of service lines Jack and bore across TxDOT right-of-way All questions or clarifications for this project must be submitted electronically and are due by 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Karnes City or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. The City of Karnes City is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The City of Karnes City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of Karnes City for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. All contractors/subcontractors who are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project. The deadline to ask questions is 1/24/2023 3:00 PM CST Scope of work :- This Section includes administrative and procedural requirements for submittals required for performance of the Work, including the following: 1. Contractor construction schedule. 2. Submittal schedule. 3. Shop drawings. 4. Product data. 5. Quality assurance and quality control submittals, including calculations, mix designs and substantiating test results. B. Each item provided shall be provided and submitted in PDF format only. C. Submittals shall meet requirements within this Section. Submittals that dont allow for thorough review will result in rejection at the Contractors responsibility Liquidated Damages:- Liquidated Damages for Delays. If the work is not completed within the time stipulated in the applicable bid for Lump Sum or Unit Price Contract provided, the Contractor shall pay to the City as fixed, agreed, and liquidated damages (it being impossible to determine the actual damages occasioned by the delay) the amount of three hundred dollars ($300.00) for each calendar day of delay, until the work is completed. The Contractor and Contractors sureties shall be liable to the City for the amount thereof
