The City of Bristol is seeking bids for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Sidewalk Improvements in Bristols low-income areas, on Orchard Street. The project funding is provided through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from Economic and Community Development.The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest.Firms submitting bids must be pre-qualified with the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (DAS) to perform concrete and/or sitework, and shall include with their bid a copy of a current certificate as issued by DAS. Additionally, any contractor or subcontractor performing any work on this contract must be pre-qualified with DAS to perform said services, and shall include with their bid a copy of a current certificate as issued by DAS.Accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the bidders base bid amount, in the form of a Bid Bond issued by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut.The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. The Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, or national origin.
