Site work for a water / sewer project in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
This project will consist of replacing approximately 240 linear feet of 8” Ductile Iron water main. The replacement is on two separate 120’ bridges on the South Causeway. The replacement includes removal of all existing pipe and appurtenances. The replacement does not include the bridge hangers. The hangers will be reused as is. The straps holding the pipe to the hangers will be reused and replaced as needed. The following item descriptions are intended to clarify what material is desired for the replacement. 001 – 8” Ductile Iron Water main The water main will be constructed of 8” ductile iron TR Flex pipe sitting on the bridge hangers and tying into existing pipe under the ground. The connections will be restrained using TR Flex connection and mega-lugs. All pipe lined for use in potable water. All external pipe coated/painted to protect from corrosion using approved HYDROFLON coating. No bypass needed for this replacement. 002 – Stainless Steel Hanger straps This item will have to be manufactured as a direct replacement of the straps that are cut off. Straps can be salvaged and reused but GCWSD staff would need to inspect them before reinstalling. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the contract time the contractor agrees to pay the owner $100.00 per day as liquidated damages
