The project consists of 73 curb ramps along the south end of the City of Urbana: South Walnut Street from West Broadway Street to West Market Street; Orchard Drive; West Reynolds Street at Dewey Avenue and South Russell Street; East Reynolds Street at South Locust Street and Buckeye Street; Windsor Avenue at Park Avenue and Henry Street; and South Kenton Street at Park Avenue and Henry Street; and Rogers Drive at West Drive and East Drive with a completion date of August 11, 2023. Site Directions: Within the City of Urbana, OH: South Walnut Street from West Broadway Street to West Market Street; Orchard Drive; West Reynolds Street at Dewey Avenue and South Russell Street; East Reynolds Street at South Locust Street and Buckeye Street; Windsor Avenue at Park Avenue and Henry Street; and South Kenton Street at Park Avenue and Henry Street; and Rogers Drive at West Drive and East Drive. Bids shall be submitted electronically and shall be accompanied by either a Bid Guaranty Bond issued in favor of the City of Urbana, Ohio and the Board of the Champaign County Commissioners in the amount of 100% of the Bid amount or by a certified check, cashiers check, or letter of credit on a solvent bank in the amount of not less than 10% of the amount of the Bid, subject to conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond in favor of the City of Urbana, Ohio and the Board of Champaign County Commissioners in the amount of 100% of the Bid in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Furthermore, upon inspection and release of the performance bond, the awarded project contractor shall submit a maintenance bond in the amount of one half of the original performance bond amount of one half of the original performance bond amount in favor of the City of Urbana, Ohio and the Board of Champaign County Commissioners. The maintenance bond shall remain in full force for 12 months until final inspection and acceptance of the work by all parties covered under the bond. This project is funded with Community Development Block Grant funds. Therefore, this project is a prevailing wage contract in accordance with the federal Davis-Bacon Wage Laws. Bidders shall comply with all applicable provisions of the federal prevailing wage laws. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio Products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity laws, Federal Labor Standards, encouragement of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) utilization, various insurance requirements, and Section 3 Requirements. No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening thereof. Awarding of bids will be determined by the Champaign County Commission in the best interest of the County and, they reserve the right to reject any or all bids.
