The project generally consists of Kitchen upgrades, Bathroom upgrades, new floor finishes, interior and exterior door replacements, and window replacements. The Scope of Work varies per location. The Contract will be awarded on a lump sum basis. Bid security is required to be submitted with each Bid in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid. Bid security may be in the form of a certified check or a Bid Bond secured by a surety company. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount will be required on this project. The Contractor shall also provide Liability Insurance coverage for the value of this contract. Prospective Bidders may also examine copies of the Bidding Documents provided by the Issuing Office The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method selected by the prospective Bidder. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days subsequent to the opening of Bids without the consent of the Owner. If a contract is for one hundred twenty thousand dollars ($120,000) or more, or if the total value of all construction, removal, repair, or improvements undertaken by the bidder within any twelve-month period is seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) or more, the bidder is required under Title 54.1, Chapter 11, Code of Virginia (1950) as amended, to show evidence of being licensed as a "Class A Contractor." If a contract is seven thousand five hundred dollars ($7,500) or more but less than one hundred twenty thousand dollars ($120,000), the bidder is required to show evidence of being licensed as a "Class B Contractor."
