Renovation of an educational facility in Salisbury, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 113,904-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility.
The University is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to demolish existing units and associated ductwork, piping, air devices, etc. indicated in specifications. Furnish and install new ductless split system units for 1st floor offices as indicated, and install new Trane unit to service the Dance Studio, this unit only will be provided by the University, in new condition. Items "C' and "D" below shall also apply to Subcontractors. Question Deadline 01/19/2023 at 3:30 PM ET Salisbury University Procurement Department PROJECT DESCRIPTION A. SCOPE OF WORK - Base Bid 1. The Maggs Center is an existing two-story structure with a gross square footage of 113,904. It is primarily masonry wall construction over a steel frame with a variety of roof configurations, consisting of lightweight concrete deck with multiple ply membranes and standing seam metal panels. The Maggs Center houses SU's main gym arena, Auxiliary gym, locker rooms, training, weight and nautilus rooms, swimming pool, racquetball courts, dance studio, classrooms and administrative offices. The original building was constructed in 1977. 2. Demolish existing water-cooled units, associated ductwork, piping, and air devices as indicated on drawings. 3. Demolish existing ductwork, air devices, and reheat coils serving the dance studio as indicated on drawings. 4. Furnish and install ductless split systems units in the first floor offices across from the Dance Studio (One outdoor unit and five indoor ceiling cassette units). 5. Install one split system heat pump to serve the Dance Studio, this equipment has been purchased by Salisbury University due to supply chain issues. The contractor is responsible for the installation, startup, testing & balancing, the warranty and receiving of the shipment for the supplied equipment. Provide mechanical and electrical services to support the installation including equipment, piping, conduit, valves, insulation, etc. 7. Remove and reinstall the ceilings as required to install the condensate and refrigerant piping. Replace damaged ceiling tiles as required.
