As of February 16,2023, This project has been awarded to Timcon Construction, with the awarded amount of $90,231.44.** The City completed upgrades to the intersection of 19 Street / Taylor Drive / QE2 Ramps in 2018 in conjunction with Alberta Transportation’s (AT) QE2 upgrades between 32nd Street and McKenzie Drive. Part of the intersection work included construction of a new cast-in-place concrete retaining wall and barrier allowing an elevation difference between the QE2 on-ramp and off-ramp to be constructed. Separately, AT constructed a guardrail along the new off-ramp, with it ending several meters in front of the retaining wall / barrier. The existing gap between the guardrail and barrier, as well as the barrier end taper are hazards to vehicles and need to be addressed. The project will consist of demolishing the end section of the existing F-shape barrier, constructing a new single slope barrier with terminal end, installation of a thrie-beam guardrail transition, and minor grading and landscaping. Anticipated work items for the Project are as follows: Reconstruction of approximately 7.2 meters of existing F-shape barrier end to Single Slope barrier with guardrail termination end Supply and installation of thrie-beam guardrail transition Site grading and landscaping Traffic Accommodation Documents can be obtained from https://reddeer.bidsandtenders.ca/
