Eastern Greene Schools is currently accepting bids for mowing services. The following are the specifications and requirements for a bid to be considered: 1. The company or individual must use their own equipment for all mowing/spraying 2. The company or individual must provide Eastern Greene Schools with proof of liability insurance at the time of submitting their bid 3. It is preferred, but not required, that the company or individual is licensed to spray herbicide to kill weeds in sidewalks and other landscaped areas. Evidence of this license should be presented at the time of submitting the bid. We are also amenable to the spraying being subcontracted but we would need to know the company being used and we would need proof of liability insurance and a copy of their license. 4. Your bid will be considered more competitive if you supply at least 2-3 letters of recommendation from clients that you have worked with in the past two years. 5. The submitted bid should list the price that will be charged per mowing/spraying. We are also interested in the company weed eating/trimming areas. Please include the price to weed eat/trim areas if separate from the price to mow. Weed eating/trimming services would only be needed until May 18. The company must be able to accommodate mowing the grounds twice per month (on average). The company will be able to judge when mowing is needed. Eastern Greene Schools reserves the right to contact the company when mowing is needed or for extra mowing/trimming when needed. Spraying for weeds would most likely be once per month. 6. The company will be expected to pick up trash and not mow over it. Sidewalks, parking lots, and other aesthetic areas should be cleared of grass clippings 7. The accepted bidder will receive rights to the mowing contract for the 2023 mowing season only. The mowing rights will be re-bid for future mowing seasons, if Eastern Greene Schools continues to contract out the mowing services 8. It is highly recommended that interested bidders make an appointment to tour the grounds and inspect the areas to be mowed/sprayed.
