Reference Number: AB-2023-00322 Rocky View County is conducting a comprehensive review and update of the County's Municipal Development Plan (MDP), currently named as the County Plan (https://www.rockyview.ca/county-plan). The MDP is the principal statutory planning document that guides the overall growth in the County and directs the composition of community planning documents. The MDP Review project will align the County's MDP with Council's strategic priorities and the recently approved Calgary Metropolitan Region Growth Plan (RGP) https://www.calgarymetroregion.ca/growth-and-servicing-plan.Furthermore, the project will establish clear principles, vision, goals, and objectives set around the following areas: oclear policy alignment and integration for higher-order and subordinate plans; opromoting the financial health of the County; oacknowledging distinct areas of the County according to growth type, potential, andcommunity aspirations; omeeting local community needs by focusing growth to suitable nodes and preservingthe character of established residential areas; osupporting a strong and diverse business community; and osupporting agricultural areas through measured growth and a strong agriculturaleconomy. The MDP Review project will be led by Rocky View County's Planning Department, however the County is seeking a planning consultant to support the preparation, design, and execution of the MDP Review project. Consultant support for the project will be focused around the following areas: opublic and stakeholder engagement; opolicy drafting and design; ocompletion of technical studies The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
