Saving Project...

Site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Longueuil, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a 39,500-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

Contruction of an addition totaling 3,646 square meters that will include a new wing connected to the existing school on the Ground Floor to improve universal accessibility to the school and create a link with the existing school. The expansion will allow the addition of a 4-year-old nursery class, two 5-year-old nursery classes, seven primary level classes upstairs and also a new sports area. Once this project is completed, the De Normandie school will include 28 primary level classes and nine preschool level classes grouped together on the ground floor of the expansion. The new link between the buildings will serve as a collaborative space for students as well as a reception area for the daycare service. This two-story building in addition to a basement will allow the addition of a gymnasium, a motor skills room, a teaching kitchen, a new library, a crealab and a new music room. TIMELINE: The project is in a preliminary stage and is included in the 2020-2030 Québec Infrastructure Plan. Preliminary studies and concept elaboration are underway at the owner. According to the owner's preliminary scheduling construction will begin in spring 2025.
