This improvement shall consist of the removal and replacement of brick street pavement and incidental items at selected locations throughout the city. The general locations are listed in the attached schedule. Included in the work incidental to the basic construction, will be backfill, seeding, and curb, driveway, or sidewalk work adjacent to some patching locations. FY2024 BRICK STREET REPAIRS--ANTICIPATED WORK LOCATIONS o Cornell Street - 5th to 6th o Oak Street - 4th to 5th o Scarritt St - Pasfield to Spring Bids will not be considered unless they are accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check, cashiers check, bank draft, bank money order or a satisfactory bid bond in the sum of five percent (5%) of the base bid amount. Proposals will be opened at the above specified time and date in the City Council Chambers, Municipal Center West. No proposals will be accepted subsequent to the preceding date and time. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals. All Contracts for the construction of public works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Female and Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to submit bids for this Contract. (1) Eleven (11) percent of the total dollar amount of the contract should be performed by Minority Business Enterprises. (2) Seven (7) percent of the total dollar amount of the contract should be performed by Female Business Enterprises. (3) Eighteen (18) percent of the total hours worked, per trade, should be performed by minority workers. (4) Three (3) percent of the total hours worked, per trade, should be performed by female workers . The completion date for this contract is November 3, 2023.
