Construction Services for Blue Island Yard Wayside Power Distribution Components Removal and Replacement Question Deadline 02/12/2024 at 4:00 PM CT Questions regarding this IFB shall be submitted via Bonfire, Bonfire will not accept questions after this time. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond of 5% of the total bid price. Payment and Performance Bonds each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price There is no Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Goal for this project The Contractor shall complete the work within a duration period of 426 days which starts from the award date (not the notice to proceed date) of this Contract. Metra reserves the right to accept any Bid, or any part thereof, or reject any and all Bids. In general terms, the Work includes, but is not limited to, the following items: 1. Remove and replace existing utility cables and replace with new. 2. Remove and replace one existing liquid-filled transformer on bridge platform with new. 3. Remove and replace one existing Medium Voltage isolation switch with new. 4. Remove and replace one 600V class switchboards with new. 5. Provide new power conductors in existing raceway to new cable reels. 6. Remove 9 cable reels and prepare space for new cable reel. 7. Remove 1 wayside power box and abandon conduit in place. 8. Provide 10 new cable reels and connect. 9. Associated controls for all reels.
