Site work for a water / sewer project in Hubert, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
For 2023 Hubert Well 2 Repair and Upgrade Bids will be received by the Onslow Water & Sewer Authority to provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to remove and evaluate the existing turbine pump, shaft, motor and appurtenances; clean and visually inspect the existing well casing and screens; document well configuration and condition; and implement both pump and motor upgrades. The location of Hubert Well 2 is located at 102 Fodder Drive, Hubert, NC 28539. NC Certified HUB Contractors are encouraged to submit bids for all bidding opportunities at ONWASA. Remove and Inspect Existing Pump Assembly a) Remove the existing motor and pull the pump assembly (intake strainer, impellers, pump column/shaft, etc.) from the well. b) Remove all airline, pressure transducer, and water level access piping from the well. c) After removal of all components, the Contractor shall verify that the existing pump is a Floway Model 12DKF-A- 7. If not, consult with ONWASA for an appropriate course of action. If the pump manufacturer and model is confirmed, continue with the modifications as described in Item #4. d) Inspect all removed components for damage or excessive wear and report any deficiencies to ONWASA. e) All materials removed shall be stored neatly on-site and protected from damage/weather. f) The existing motor and any unused parts shall be delivered to the Hubert Water Treatment Plant, 372 Hubert Boulevard, Hubert, NC 28593. No other well componentsshall be removed from the site by the Contractor without prior approval from ONWASA. . Clean and Inspect Well a) Contractor shall sound well to verify depth. b) Mechanically clean the well casing and screens using nylon brushes; care should be taken to avoid excessive force in cleaning and potential damage to well screens. ) Airlift/bail debris from the well, including removal of accumulated sand/sediment to the overall well depth (estimated 200 feet). d) Monitor water quality during airlift for sand content, Ph levels and turbidity. e) Using video equipment made for this purpose, visually inspect and record the condition of the well casing and screens after cleaning and sediment removal; an ONWASA representative must be present at the site while this work is being performed. f) Prepare a detailed written inspection report to document well conditions and configuration (well diameter, depth of inner/outer casing, screen depth and extent, overall depth, pump installation depth, etc.). g) In the event deficiencies are observed during the inspection, include in the report specific information regarding the type of deficiency, location/extent and a recommended repair method. h) Provide to ONWASA a copy of the video inspection, on suitable storage media (CD or USB flash drive) and two hard copies of the inspection report. ) Contractor will be responsible for removing existing metal covering and insulation on discharge piping to provide access to, then remove the existing 8" flow meter. b) Contractor shall provide and install an 8" propeller-style meter with an analog register and totalizer to read in gallons with a 4-20ma output. Flow meter should meet the specifications of a Water Specialties Propeller flow meter with TR16 Indicator-Totalized-Transmitter or approved equal. c) Contractorshall provide all the necessary gaskets, fittings, flanges, fasteners, hardware, and restraintsto complete the meter installation. d) Contractor will be responsible for the material and labor to replace the insulation and metal covering that was removed during the meter installation process. The repair should be equivalent to the original installation upon completion. e) Contractor will be responsible for the hardware to expand the Remote Terminal Unit, the wiring and SCADA programming of the new flow meter. SCADA programming will provide the ability to view the well flow in gallons per minute on the well pop up screen for Hubert Well 2. Coordination and approval with ONWASA'sIT Department is required for SCADA programming access. f) Contractor shall submit manufacturer cut sheets for all materials for approval by ONWASA prior to ordering.
