Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows:5804 SY mix and stabilize existing pavement section,5804 SY prime with RC-250 and GR5 uncoated rock, 5463 SY 1 1/2 -inch hot mixed asphaltic concrete,84 LF 15 RCP appurtenant items. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the (Village of Surfside Beach) or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond.Performance and Payment Bonds, requires all prime contractors which enter into a formal contract in excess of $25,000 with the State, any department, board, agency, municipality, county, school district or any division or subdivision thereof, to obtain a Payment Bond in the amount of the contract before commencing with work and a performance bond for public works contracts in excess of $100,000. The Village of Surfside Beach reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.The right is reserved to reject any bid where an investigation of the available data does not satisfy the Grant Recipient that the bidder is qualified to carry out properly the terms of the contract. The successful bidder agrees that time is of the essence of this Contract, and that for each day of delay beyond the number of days specified for the substantial completion of his work, after due allowances for such extension of time as may be provided, the OWNER may withhold permanently from the CONTRACTOR's total compensation, the sum of $500.00 per day as stipulated liquidated damages for such delay
