Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Nantucket, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The proposed scope of work requires the contractor to manufacture, deliver and install two new bridges at the Nantucket Terminal. Work also includes the demolition and disposal of the two bridges currently in place. The Steamship Authority anticipates onsite demolition and installation to begin January 2025. The Contractor will be required to pay prevailing rates of wages for all work performed on the project (only on site) in accordance with the schedule of minimum wage rates issued for this project by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Workforce Development's Division of Occupational Safety under the provisions of Mass. G.L.c.149, 26 and 27. All bids submitted for the Contract must be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, or cash, or a certified check on, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by, a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the "Woods Hole, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority" in the name of which the contract for the work is to be executed. The amount of such bid deposit shall be five percent (5%) of the TOTAL CONTRACT PRICE set forth in the bid. The Steamship Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to modify or amend with the consent of the bidder any bid prior to acceptance, and to waive any informality, all as the Authority in its sole judgment and discretion may deem to be in the public interest.
