Site work and new construction of a medical facility in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 263,000-square-foot, two-story above grade, 70-bed medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.
The Design-Builder will be responsible for all aspects of the Project in accordance with the Design-Build Agreement. This includes but is not limited to: (a) design and construction of the Facility and integration of the various building components with each other; (b) provision of utilities and other site services required to support the Facility, including connection to existing City of Dawson Creek (the City) infrastructure; (c) achieving Substantial Completion and Total Completion; (d) performing warranty repairs for a period of two years following Substantial Completion; and (e) achieving LEED Gold Certification. The hospital will be 263,000 sq ft, contain 70 beds, 15 treatment spaces and carry chemotherapy, ambulatory care, radiology, clinical support and pharmacy services. TIMELINE: Ground breaking has recently taken place. Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers are currently unreleased for publication. Construction is expected to be nearing completion by the fall of 2026; hospital will be able to accept patients by 2027. *Awarded value not released for publication. The project has an approximate cost of $590 million to be shared between the province and the Peace River Regional Hospital District. The district's contribution will not exceed $177 million, reads a news release.
