Demolition, site work and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Bloomington, Minnesota. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; and for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
Replace the pedestrian bridge over 84th Street between Normandale Lake Blvd and Norman Center Drive. Reconstruct the retaining walls that support the bridge abutments. This project will also include lighting improvements adjacent to the bridge. Depending on the condition of the pedestrian bridge when this project occurs, it may only require re-decking, bridge abutment and retaining wall replacement. 10% cost increase was added in the 2023-2032 CIP update to account for inflation. This project is in included in the City of Bloomington FY 2023-2032 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of January 19, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
