The proposed contract requires the provision of approximately 1200 hectares of silviculture surveys located across most operating areas in the Seaward (tlasta) Business Area. The contract will require a range of qualified professionals and technical staff working in various conditions including many isolated/remote locations. Surveys may include, but will not be limited to regen/stocking, free growing, pre-stand tending (brushing prescription) and plantability (for areas identified as NSR or low stocking) and the follow-up preparation of survey report packages. Contract deliverables will be planned for completion throughout the contract term to meet the contracts milestone targets. Projects will be completed concurrently as per the approved work progress plan and schedules. Deadline for receiving questions is 10:00 am on February 8, 2023. If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by February 9, 2023. Tender submissions must be submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the tender package. The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
