As of October 17, 2024, per owner, Construction has begun, the equipment is up, some additional concrete is being poured and next week the surfacing should be put in place. A design team and contractor have been identified. The City did the work to prep the site and pour the concrete. The City of Linn is soliciting Request for Proposals from qualified Firms for the design, material supply, construction and installation of a Universally Accessible Playground to be located in the City park located at 1207 W Lee Street in Linn, Missouri. The project requires the Firm to offer play for kids of all abilities. The Universally Accessible Playground is to be 8,394 square feet not including the 5.5' sidewalk and 4' coated fence surrounding the play area. The entire project must meet a minimum of ADA standards. Other requirements shown below: a. Playground area map attached b. The Universally Accessible Playground requires the following pieces of equipment: Swings, zip line (dual track), Spinner and climbing structure with activity panels and slides, as well as other supporting pieces and shade structures. c. Barn Theme d. Playground to meet 2-5 and 5-12 ASTM requirements e. Unitary rubber surfacing to be used, tiles f. All surfacing should meet required CFH, critical fall heights, per the equipment provided and must meet all ASTM standards for playground safety surfacing g. Safety surfacing must be onsite tested with client to ensure it meets the standards listed above and will be tested at the end of year three and at the end of year 5 h. Warranty must ensure that CFH and ASTM Standards are included with the warranty for the 5 years i. Minimum 5" post for main post and deck structure j. Highest quality gauge of steel required, Minimum of 13 gauge for posts and 11 gauge for decks k. Desks must be PVC coated and meet ASTM standards l. As built specifications and drawing required 3. The City reserves the right to work with the selected Firm to revise the design for the playground equipment. 4. Firm must have previous experience designing, suppling, constructing and installing a Universally Accessible Playground Project. Proposal envelopes must be sealed and clearly marked "City Park Accessible Playground". a. Proposals will be publicly opened at 4:00 p.m., February 7, 2023 at City Hall, located at 1200 E Main Street, Linn, Missouri, 65051. b. Any bids received that do not follow specification guidelines will be considered non-responsive. The City reserves the right to: a. reject any and all bids, to waive technicalities and to accept the bid considered to be the most advantageous to the city, b. evaluate and select the lowest responsible and responsive bid for the services requested. 7. No subcontracting of services or equipment will be permitted without authorization of the City. 8. A proposal may be withdrawn upon notice in writing prior to the time set for opening and evaluation of proposals.
