West Virginia University on behalf of its Board of Governors ("BOG") located in Morgantown, West Virginia ("WVU" or "University") is initiating this Request for Bids ("RFB") from qualified, experienced, and licensed Contractors for leak repairs to Seneca Hall (University Place) located at 2151 University Avenue, Morgantown, WV 26505. Cutoff for Questions: Date: January 27, 2023 Time: 12:00 pm EST SUBSTANTIAL AND FINAL COMPLETION - The Contractor shall achieve Substantial and Final Completion of the entire Work as calculated or indicated below. The date of issuance of the West Virginia University's Notice to Proceed and/or Contact shall be used to calculate Substantial and Final Completion if contract time stated below is in number of calendar days. Project Start: May 8, 2023 Substantial Completion shall be July 28, 2023 Final Completion shall be August 18, 2023. Final Completion is considered when project site is de-mobilized and all project documents listed in Close-Out section of the specifications has been sent to the owner. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES - The Contractor shall achieve Substantial and Final Completion of the entire Work as calculated or indicated above. The date of issuance of the West Virginia University's Notice to Proceed or Executed Agreement shall be used to calculate Substantial and Final Completion of contract time stated in number of consecutive calendar days or established date. Time is of the essence. Liquidated Damages shall be Five Hundred Dollars ($500) per Calendar Day of delay in achieving Substantial Completion and Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250) per Calendar Day of delay in achieving Final Completion. The following Bonds will be required with award: - Performance Bond - Labor and Material Bond Repair or replacement to affected drywall and insulation systems in Apartments 418, 518, and 618 as well as the adjacent stairwell systems which includes the drywall and tile systems. . Affected carpet in the apartments will be contracted separately. . Replacement of the stairway entrance adjacent to Apartment 418 between door and drain. Cutout and replace the existing concrete and fill with weather resistant epoxy. . Replace exterior stairwell door jamb reusing existing door. . Staging of materials should be limited to the in the grassy area by the street below the 4th Floor Courtyard as in the photo below. A lift system may be used to cart materials to the 4 th floor. It is permissible that the courtyard may be used for storage, but sufficient protection should be provided to limit damages
