This project will primarily consist of excavation of previously stockpiled rock/soil, placement of on-site materials and excavated stockpiled materials as engineered structural fill, supply and placement of compacted low permeability soil liner, supply and placement of woven geotextile, supply and placement of crushed rock operations layer, supply of materials and construction of a reinforced concrete bunker and adjoining truck pad, and supply and placement of hydro-mulch seeding and erosion blanket on project slopes. Also included in project scope is construction of the interim biosolids and FOG handling area to be located at the north end of the Phase lll-A disposal area. This work entails excavation of soil/refuse, supply and placement of soil fill, supply and placement of clayey soil layer, and supply and placement of crushed rock operations. This portion of the work must be completed within 28 days of issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The project work area is immediately north of the Phase IV-A disposal area of the Central Maui Landfill. The Contractor will be responsible to coordinate and sequence all aspects of construction that could affect landfill operations to ensure minimal impact to access and ability to efficiently carry out landfill operations throughout the construction period. Completion of this project within Contract Time is critically important to the County to avoid exhaustion of available disposal capacity and exposure to potentially significant regulatory penalties The Contractor may propose to perform construction outside the normal operating hours of the Central Maui Landfill to facilitate efficient construction, maintain continuous operation of the landfill, and ensure project completion within the Contract Time Any questions pertaining to the bid process, of for help in submitting a bid, can be directed to Mr. Jared Masuda at 808-270-7830. Bidders must be qualified in compliance with Section 103D-310 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes. Bidders shall be licensed in accordance to Chapter 444, HRS, relating to the licensing of Contractors. Bidders shall at a minimum possess a C-17 or C-27 Specialty Contractors License. The Contractor, and his subcontractor(s), if any, shall comply with all applicable revisions of the law relative to the Prevailing Wage Schedule, as required under Chapter 104, HRS.
