The Town of Chelmsford DPW Division is requesting bids from qualified Contractors. In general, Work shall be defined under two (2) separate parts; Emergency Tree Removal, and as- needed Tree Removal. The Contractor shall supply all material, tools, equipment and labor to complete the Work. Work and emergency operations shall be conducted in a neat and orderly fashion such that no damage occurs to adjacent property, pavement, curbing, landscape, driveways, utilities, etc. Work shall include cutting and chipping of all limbs, slash and twigs from specified trees. All trunks will be cut to grade. Grinding of stumps selected by the Director of Public Works or her agent. All material shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be removed from the site to be properly disposed of. This will be a one (1) year contract that expires on December 31st, 2023 Responses to questions will be posted on the electronically as an Addenda no later than January 30th, 2023. It is the responsibility of each bidder to check the town website periodically for any additional addenda A bid bond of 5% payable to the Town of Chelmsford shall accompany each bid. This may be in the form of a certified check or bid bond. A Payment Bond and Performance Bond equal to 50% of the contract will be required from the successful bidder. The Town of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, herein called the Owner, acting by and through its Department of Public Works, will receive sealed bids as specified in the invitation for Bids at which time bids will be publicly opened and read. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the time and date specified will not be considered. The bidder agrees that this bid will be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days, after opening the bids The Town of Chelmsford acting through its Town Manager, the awarding authority, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in the bid if it would be in the best interest of the Town. The Owner also reserves the right to reject the bid of any bidder that the Owner considers to be unqualified based on the criteria set forth herein
