Marion County Community Services Department (County) is currently seeking consulting services for economic development strategic planning (Plan) and strategy implementation. The County is seeking proposals from individuals, firms, teams or consultants, hereafter called "proposer(s)," with demonstrated experience in strategic planning, and proposes to engage the successful Proposer to complete the following services: The Strategic Plan shall: Include strategies and action items for Marion County as a whole, as well as its specific regions and should build upon each area's economic asset base that expand existing industry and business sectors. These strategies should address both needs and impediments of existing businesses and residents, while defining methods for attracting and growing new businesses and supporting the development of the communities. The goal is to sustain, expand, and diversify its economy in order to provide a high quality of life for all residents. Identify new targeted industries; support workforce, livability, and living wages; and overcome challenges that hinder the development of key areas. Include an implementation plan with reporting strategies and templates, including metrics to measure the success of these initiatives. All firms submitting proposals are referred to as proposers in this document; after negotiations, the awarded Proposer will be designated as Contractor.
