Demolition, site work, paving and addition to a mixed-use development in Irvine, California. Completed plans call for the addition of a playground / park / athletic field; for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Great Park Baseball Bullpens Improvement, CIP 362211. This project will includes the expansion of two baseball bullpens at the existing baseball complex at the Great Park Baseball Stadium. Each side of the field has one existing bullpen and this projects looks to expand both bullpens doubling the capacity of each. Site development works includes removing an existing segment of fence and curb at each bullpen. New fence and curb will be placed widening the bullpens by approximately ten feet. The existing landscape and irrigation between the bullpens and existing ramp will be replaced. This area will also be regraded adjusting the flow line closer to the ramped walk. The existing ramped walk and ADA ramps will remain in place. CONTRACTORS STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Prime Contractor must possess a valid Class "A" license. PROJECT LOCATION AND SCHEDULE: 8412 Great Park Blvd, Irvine, California, 92618. 45 working days (excluding plant establishment) and 75 working days (with plant establishment) to complete. PRE-BID MEETING: Not applicable. There is no pre-bid meeting for this project. PREVAILING RATES OF WAGES: Prevailing wage requirements apply to public works projects with a value exceeding $1,000.00. The definition of "public works" is found at Labor Code Section 1720, et seq. The CITY is subject to the provisions of law relating to public contracts in the State of California. It is agreed that all provisions of law applicable to public contracts are a part of this Agreement to the same extent as though set forth herein, and will be complied with by CONTRACTOR. CONTRACTOR shall abide by all applicable Sections of the California Labor Codes including Sections 1770 -1781, et seq. In accordance with the provisions of Section 1773 of the California Labor Code, the general prevailing rates of per diem wages and holiday and overtime work in the locality in which the Work is to be performed shall be in accordance with the rates posted on the Department of Industrial Relations website, found at portal The CONTRACTOR, and any subcontractor under him, shall pay not less than the specified prevailing rates of wages to all workers employed in the execution of this Agreement. The CITY reminds all contractors and subcontractors of the adoption of Senate Bill 96 - Amendments to California Prevailing Wage Law Requires Additional Measures by Public Agencies, Contractors and Subcontractors, and encourages them to understand and comply with the requirements as set forth on the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) portal All contractors and subcontractors who plan to bid on a public works project when the project is for construction, alteration, demolition, installation, or repair work with a value exceeding $25,000.00 must first be registered and pay an annual fee with the DIR. Additionally, all contractors and subcontractors who plan to bid on public works projects involving maintenance work with a value exceeding $15,000.00 must first be registered and pay an annual fee with the DIR. The CITY requires all contractors and subcontractors to be registered with the DIR prior to submitting a bid meeting these parameters. Subject to the exceptions set forth in Labor Code Section 1725.5, bids from contractors that are not currently registered will be deemed nonresponsive. Further, the CITY will not award a contract to and no contractor or subcontractor will be allowed to work on a CITY public works project meeting these parameters unless they are registered with the DIR pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. A contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirements of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, as defined in this chapter, unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. It is not a violation of this section for an unregistered contractor to submit a bid that is authorized by Section 7029.1 of the Business and Professions Code or by Section 10164 or 20103.5 of the Public Contract Code, provided the contractor is registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 at the time the contract is awarded. COMPLETION OF WORK AND LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: All work shall be completed in a total of Forty Five (45) Working Days (excluding plant establishment) and Seventy Five (75) Working Days (including plant establishment) from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages shall be Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500) per Calendar Day, for each and every Calendar Days delay in finishing the work except plant establishment work, in excess of the number of Working Days prescribed above, and liquidated damages shall be Nine Hundred Fifty Dollars ($950) per Calendar Day, for each and every Calendar Days delay in completing the plant establishment work in excess of the number of Working Days prescribed above. In no case will liquidated damages be assessed at more than Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500) per Calendar Day. PROJECT ADMINISTRATION: All questions relative to this project prior to opening bids must be submitted via Planet Bids no later than January 26, 2023 at 4:00p.m. as this would not allow time to respond to all plan holders. No verbal requests or requests made in any other format will be accepted. Questions must be submitted individually and not in a paragraph format nor combined in a single submission. Requests submitted for City's consideration of proposed terms and conditions, including modifications to the City's IFB and/or Contract terms and conditions must be submitted by the deadline for questions. Such requests should include an attachment in Word or PDF format on formal company letterhead that shows the requested modifications. Significant interpretations or clarifications and responses to questions received by the deadline will be addressed via addenda to this IFB, which will be released and posted on Planet Bids under the "Addenda/Emails" tab The performance of the Contract may not be assigned, except upon the written consent of the Agency. Consent will not be given to any proposed assignment that would relieve the original Contractor or its Surety of their responsibilities under the Contract, nor will the Agency consent to any assignment of any part of the Work under the Contract. Assignment of this Contract shall contain a provision that the funds to be paid to the assignee under the assignment are subject to a prior lien for services rendered or materials supplied for performance of the work called for under the Contract in favor of all persons, firms, or corporations rendering such services or supplying such materials DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work to be performed shall include, but not be limited to: This project will includes the expansion of two baseball bullpens at the existing baseball complex at the Great Park Baseball Stadium.
