DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The scope of this project is to provide all the labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to construct the Tusher Area Sewer Improvements Project, complete as described in the plans and specifications. The project generally includes the construction of approximately 40 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer line, 635 linear feet of 10-inch gravity sewer line, and 2,850 linear feet of 12-inch gravity sewer line including 19 manholes, 75 lateral connections, fittings, etc. SITE OF WORK: The Project Site is located in the southern part of the City of Moab, Utah. COMPLETION OF WORK: Time is of the essence. A. The Work shall not commence before August 1, 2023 and shall be substantially completed on or before January 31, 2024, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions on or before February 15, 2024. B. Time is of the essence. The Owner understands the tight construction schedule for this project. BID SECURITY: Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price payable to the Owner as a guarantee that the Bidder, if his Bid is accepted, will promptly execute the contract, provide evidence of insurance, and furnish a satisfactory faithful performance bond in the amount of 100 percent of the total bid price and a payment bond in the amount of 100 percent of the total bid price. ADDRESS AND MARKING OF BID: The envelope enclosing the Bid shall be sealed and addressed to City of Moab Recorders Office. The envelope shall be plainly marked in the upper left-hand corner with the name and address of the Bidder and shall bear the words "Bid for," followed by the title of the Contract Documents for the Work and the date and hour of opening of Bids. The certified or cashier's check, or Bidder's bond shall be enclosed in the same envelope with the Bid. It shall be understood, however, that no interpretations of the drawings or specifications will be made except in writing signed by the Engineer, nor will any "or equal" products be considered for approval prior to award of a contract. OWNER'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The Owner may, at reasonable times, inspect the part of the plant or place of business of a contractor or any subcontractor, which is related to the performance of any contract awarded or to be awarded by the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any informality in a Bid, and to make awards in the interest of the Owner.
